Outline

The Department of Public Health has programs in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, with both programs collaborating on research activities. We are currently engaged in several research projects. Our goal is to provide a practical basis for preventive medicine and improve public health.

Our research areas include:

Degree Program Requirements

Doctorate in Medical Science:

Applicants must possess: A masters degree from an acceptable institution or an equivalent degree, such as a medical school degree, and must possess substantial knowledge in a discipline relevant to public health either through study, experience, or a combination of both. Our faculty and students come from a variety of fields including medicine, pharmacology, nutrition, psychology, public health nursing, and exercise physiology. We have collaborative partnerships with several health science departments of other universities, research institutions, community organizations, and local and state health departments.
Our department is an academically challenging and exciting place to be.
